When venturing into this lawn care-or any business-it's important just to get started. I use just, meaning you should start 'in-spite-of'. In spite of lacking all the equipment you need. When I did this last season, I had a better weed trimmer, with 20% more power, dual strings instead of one, and a blower attachment that sped up jobs by probably 10 minutes.
This season, I work with a 20cc single-string model, no blower attachment, and a guarder secured with the ole duck tape fix. Soon, I want to replace the current with that previous one, but if I had stopped marketing, responding to calls, and going out, I would have missed the recent business I've had. I.e., Success comes from a mix of textbook planning and hustle on the fly. At least, that's what I've learned.
